Payment Alliance International (PAI), an emerging leader in the Payment sector, announced that it has acquired Electronic Data Resources, Inc. (EDR). EDR is a leading provider of electronic point of sale services including credit and debit card processing. This transaction will provide a payment oriented infrastructure and foundation for PAI. The acquisition of EDR is a major step in the foundation of PAI as it starts an expansion that includes many offerings not normally found in this industry. Through its support of over 100 sales offices nationwide, EDR had grown to become one of America’s leading providers of merchant processing services. As PAI emerges as a leader in this sector, the experience and market presence of EDR is an important element. “As we were looking to establish a foundation, EDR was the obvious choice,” says John J. Leehy III, CEO of PAI. “The two organizations have similar styles and their leadership will serve the combined companies well as we look at the vast opportunities in this sector.” “I think the combination of companies brings a good balance to the management and administration of the overall business,” says Bill Blakey, CEO of EDR. “We’ve built a good business model that has proven successful for several years now that will provide a great foundation for PAI.” The merging of operations will begin immediately.
